50/50 JV. Chinook Hay Systems
Tempest Bale Slicer
Large balers are the most efficient way to put up hay at scale. But feed stores, equine suppliers, and small-volume buyers don’t want a 1,500 lb bale, they want small, consistent, manageable product.
The Tempest bridges that gap. Built for commercial producers who need field efficiency without sacrificing market flexibility, it slices large 3×3 and 3×4 bales down to consistent retail-ready 40–45 lb bales, at the throughput a serious operation demands.
Developed jointly with Chinook Hay Systems, the Tempest combines Ghost River’s hydraulic engineering with Chinook’s deep experience in commercial hay handling. Precise cut dimensions, minimal crop loss, and the durability to run full shifts through peak harvest windows.

Wraith Bale Former
Getting hay to export markets or into dairy and feedlot operations isn’t just about growing it, it’s about delivering it in a format buyers will pay for. Dense, heavy, consistent bales that stack efficiently, ship economically, and meet the weight specifications serious buyers demand.
The Wraith processes loose-fed alfalfa into large sleeved bales at roughly 10 metric tons per hour. OMRON PLC + Exor HMI controls. More product per 40-foot container means lower freight cost per tonne, which matters when you’re shipping across an ocean or across the country.
Beyond density, the Wraith gives producers the ability to blend. Mix different forage types, incorporate feed ingredients, and produce a consistent, specified product that commands better pricing in dairy and feedlot markets where ration consistency is everything.
